Self catering family holidays in Iguassu Falls?
Self catering family holidays in Iguassu Falls? We found this is a smart lodging solution when traveling with family to Iguassu Falls. Now we wish we knew about the Iguazu Jungle Lodge from the start on our frequent visits there and you can take advantage of our experiences!
When traveling with family or in groups of 4 or more persons self catering accommodation can be a smart solution to keep your lodging expenses under control.
In the particular case of the Iguazu Jungle Lodge you can save hundreds of USD per day if having to accommodate 4, 5 or more persons and without sacrificing high standards of comfort and quality lodging.
Let me show you how your self catering family holidays in Iguazu Jungle Lodge will be.
Here’s a first view of this beautiful resort.
Doesn’t it look like a cozy little neighborhood in the middle of some exotic location? And that’s what it actually is! And it's located only minutes away from the majestic Iguassu Falls and only seven blocks away from downtown Puerto Iguazu (that’s Argentina’s little town neighboring the Iguassu Falls).
The main feature of this resort is it is built upon basalt rock formations surrounded by subtropical rainforests that grow naturally alongside the Iguazu River bank. Rocks, lush vegetation and carefully manicured gardens combine for a unique outdoor environment we loved! When lodging here you will be living in the jungle but with all modern comforts and amenities!
Here’s a view of the jungle from one of the ample balconies of the cabin we rented.
It was great just sitting there watching and hearing the sounds of Nature. There’s no need for an alarm clock or waking up courtesy service here, the singing of birds will do that for you early in the morning!
This cabin can accommodate up to 7 guests in three bedrooms. There are small lofts for hosting two guests that are ideal for honeymooners or for that very special romantic escape your are planning with your mate!
Each cottage and loft has a fully equipped kitchen (if you want to cook), lobby and dining room. The bathrooms are excellent. The interiors are decorated with a simple and charming style (I love the hard-wood floors). Air conditioning is a must and it works!
Your loft or cabin is also equipped with a top-notch notebook with a wireless broadband internet connection. When you are there please remember to let me know how things are going in paradise!
The pool and playground is a beautiful place to be when you are not exploring the mysteries of Iguassu Falls.
The resort is tiny but with plenty of room for relaxing outdoors and the ambience so tranquil!
The maid service is also excellent and all Iguazu Jungle Lodge personnel are attentive, responsible persons you can trust to serve you well.
Did we find any defect on these self catering family holidays? If you are planning your visit during the high season (Easter, July and January) its hard to find available lodging space in Iguazu Jungle Lodge and the price is higher too!
Make your Iguazu Jungle Lodge cottage reservation in advance. To do so please use the contact form at the end of this page.
Almost forgot, a continental breakfast with abundant seasonal fruits is included in the fair.
Some consider the absence of a restaurant in this resort is a con. If you don’t want to cook your meals Puerto Iguazu has some excellent eating-out options at reasonable prices. You can also order to-go meals at specialized delivery outlets in the town right from your hotel (Pizzas and Pastas are good and the hotel clerks will help on this).
Besides, according to my numbers your hotel bill savings when lodging here can easily pay for your eating-out expenses.
Self catering family holidays tip #1. How do I move around? If you are buying groceries for eating-in or going out to eat downtown Puerto Iguazu is within a walking distance from your hotel (7 blocks away) and this little town is the safest and most tourist friendly of the Iguassu Falls so you can walk around safely. If you are returning to the hotel during night hours and are afraid to get lost on foot then a taxi is your best bet but we found learning our way around in this tiny city is quite easy.
Self catering family holidays tip #2. How do I reach all the local attractions from my hotel? It's easy, you can arrange all your local touring needs with the hotel manager. Our recommended tours are:

- Puerto Iguazu (airport code IGR, Argentina)
- Foz do Iguassu (airport code IGU, Brazil)
- Ciudad del Este (airport code AGT, Paraguay)
This hotel has a transfer service to and from any of the above airports. Arrange this service with the manager when making your reservation.
